My Faith Journey

Pastor Martin is the founding pastor of Discovery Church in Bowmanville ON in 2006. He is married to AJ and is a father and grandfather. Martin has provided leadership to the Christian Reformed Church as a Local Mission Leader, Church Planting Catalyst and sits on the leadership team of the Church Planters Institute. In addition to teaching at Briercrest Bible College and Seminary, Pastor Martin has recently completed his Doctor of Ministry Degree in Leadership. He is passionate about mentoring and coaching up-and-coming leaders and being a disciple maker.  

This course is based on the life, character and ministry of Jesus as explained in the Bible. People have been imitating Jesus words, character, and ministry for hundreds of years and many people today are looking for someone to lead them on a journey to becoming more like Jesus.

The purpose of this course is to provide the curious and committed followers of Jesus with a guided online process to grow in their spiritual disciplines and set healthy patterns. This is specifically for people who do not have a spiritual mentor or who’s schedules or location make it difficult to join a discipleship mentoring group. A spiritual mentor provides wisdom, teaching, encouragement, accountability, and relationship.

One of the most important questions to ask about your faith journey is "Who do you believe Jesus is?" Answering this question will help you understand the nature of the Christian faith. Maybe you are entering into this process without a clear answer to that question? In session one Pastor Martin walks you through two chapters in the book of John outlining how two very different people answer the question, "Who is this Jesus?"
